Indian Style Broccolini

Broccolini – 1 bunch ( I used homegrown)

Mustard oil – 4tbsp

Cumin seeds- 2tsp

Asafoetida – 2pinch

Salt according to your taste

Red chilli powder ( kashmiri) – 1tsp

Mango powder – 1tsp ( or lemon juice – 1tbsp )

Black pepper – 1/4 tsp

How about a quick recipe for broccolini cooked in Indian style to suit your tastebuds . Goes well with pretty much anything . Have it as a salad or team up with any bread or mix in your rice to make healthy fried rice or serve this a side dish , its such a versatile recipe which is simple to make and oozing out with yummy flavors and also is a proof that vegetables dishes don’t have to be boring.


Heat mustard oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium – high heat . Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, salt , red chilli powder, give a good mix and then add your broccolini. Mix well cook until 5 minutes or until crisp – tender , stirring occasionally. Once its half done add mango powder.
You can add some nuts of your choice when you serve this.Serve it as a salad or have it on top of your rice , pair it with your meat , or have it with Roti or pranthas .
