Fresh Tomato Pasta Sauce

Ingredients:

10,12 tomatoes (washed & chopped)

3 tablespoon olive oil

1 large red onion ( sliced)

5,6 garlic cloves

1/4 cup walnuts ( choose any other nuts if you prefer )

2 teaspoon sweet paprika powder

2 tablespoon dish delicious blend

Salt & pepper to taste

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon jaggery powder or raw sugar

1/2 cup chopped fresh basil leaves

This summer my garden has been loaded with lots of various kinds of tomatoes and using homegrown tomatoes to make this beautiful sauce was a treat. This tomato sauce recipe is loaded with flavors by adding my very popular blend dish delicious, which makes this sauce very unique than any other sauces you have tried so far. Rich in flavors, so easy to prepare and honestly better than any store bought .I am sure you will be enjoying making this multi-purpose sauce ! Method:

Add red chopped onion, garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, making sure garlic and onion doesn’t get burnt, so cook on low medium heat

Add chopped tomatoes, sweet paprika, salt & pepper, lemon juice , dish delicious blend, jaggery powder and walnuts

Mix well and cook sauce over medium heat for about 2,3 minutes, then bring it to a simmer and cook until tender stirring occasionally for another 5, 6 minutes

At this stage you can use potato masher to crush tomatoes so that it reaches its desired consistency quickly

Cook for at least 15- 20 minutes uncovered

Once done switch off the heat, add basil leaves and mix well

Cool it down and blend it in a blender if you are using it for a pasta sauce and if using on pizza base just leave the consistency thick

Notes:

You can use stick blender, food processor, or blender to make this sauce
You can use this sauce as a pizza base, pasta, or great for gnocchi as well
You can freeze this in airtight jar or in a ice cube trays or transfer into a Ziploc bag by squeezing out air bubbles and use it as you require
You can use thyme, oregano, rosemary or parsley in this sauce for a change
You can choose to add any other nuts if you are allergic to walnuts or make it nut free
